Privacy

This notice covers Tupos MPE instruments, direct licences, support and this website.

Who we are

Tupos Audio is Heikki Niemelä, Finland, the controller for the personal data we process. support@tuposaudio.com

The instruments

The instruments do not require a Tupos account and contain no advertising, tracking, analytics or separate crash-reporting service. Audio, MIDI performance and sound settings are processed on your device; we do not receive your playing or recordings. If you choose an external link, the app hands its address to the operating system to open in the App Store or your browser.

Settings you change — interface scale, MIDI channel, MIDI Learn assignments and expression input configuration — and presets you save are stored on your device. You can choose to export or share presets; your operating system or backup service may also back up these files.

App Store editions

App Store editions do not use our direct licence service and can be played without a network connection. Purchases, downloads and your Apple account are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. We do not receive your payment card details. Depending on your device privacy settings, Apple may make diagnostic information available to developers through App Store Connect. We use any such reports to investigate faults and improve reliability.

Direct desktop editions

Lemon Squeezy handles direct purchases, payments and licence keys under its privacy policy. Customer and order information, such as your name, email address and purchase details, is available to us to administer your licence and provide support. We do not receive your full payment card details.

Activating, checking or deactivating a licence requires an internet connection. The instrument sends your licence key and an activation identifier to Lemon Squeezy. For activation, the identifier is derived from a hash of your device identifier; the raw device identifier is not sent. Lemon Squeezy also receives the connection’s IP address. Licence status, your key, activation information and the customer name returned by the service are stored locally. After successful activation, offline use is available while the licence remains valid.

Support and retention

If you email support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use customer, licence and support data to fulfil our agreement with you, answer your requests and meet legal obligations. Our legitimate interests also include investigating faults, protecting the service and handling related claims.

We retain support correspondence while needed to resolve your request and any related issues or claims. Customer and licence records are retained as needed to administer your licence and meet applicable legal obligations. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised. Apple and Lemon Squeezy apply their own retention policies to the records they hold.

This website

We run no website analytics. Our hosting provider may record your IP address, request details and browser information in standard server logs for security and reliability. These logs are subject to the hosting provider’s retention policy. This processing serves our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website.

The website embeds YouTube videos using its privacy-enhanced player. When an embedded player loads, your browser connects to Google and discloses information such as your IP address and browser details. Privacy-enhanced mode does not mean that no data is processed. Google handles this information under its privacy policy.

Apple, Lemon Squeezy and Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. Their privacy policies explain their processing locations and international transfer safeguards.

Your rights

Where applicable, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact support@tuposaudio.com. Deletion may be limited where records are needed to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. For data held independently by Apple, Lemon Squeezy or Google, contact that provider.

You can complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman or your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this notice changes materially, the updated version appears here with a new date. Last updated 11 October 2026.
